I-35 at 51st Street

Overview

The project added a collector-distributor road, or intersection bypass lane, to allow through-traffic to bypass the traffic signal and added a new roundabout at the intersection of the southbound frontage road of I-35 and 51st Street. Bicycle and pedestrian accommodations were also be improved along the I-35 southbound frontage road within the project limits.

Schedule

  • Finalized schematic and environmental documentation: September 2015
  • Begin Plans, Specifications and Estimates (PS&E): September 2015
  • Complete PS&E: June 2016
  • Construction letting: June 2016
  • Construction start: October 2016
  • Construction completion: June 2018
