I-35 from RM 2243 to SE Inner Loop

Overview

The project includes intersection improvements to alleviate an existing bottleneck at the intersection of RM 2243 and I-35, southbound frontage road improvements, and operational improvements along RM 2243 from Woodmont Drive to Scenic Drive.

Project Description

• Replace existing bridge at RM 2243 with a taller, wider bridge that includes three additional designated turn lanes
• Improve existing southbound I-35 frontage road from RM 2243 to north of SE Inner Loop
• Add braided entrance/exit ramps along the southbound I-35 frontage road between RM 2243 and SE Inner Loop
• Provide a northbound to southbound U-turn bridge
• Improve bicycle and pedestrian sidewalks and paths

• Project development funded by TxDOT
• Not funded for construction
