Future Events Being Planned

We're now scheduling evening project-update meetings for the communities along I-35. If you'd like to have one in your area, call us and we'd be glad to get it set up for you.

Helping Wrong-way Drivers See the Right Path

With the most highway lane miles in the country, it's no surprise that Texas leads the nation in the number of wrong-way crashes — crashes that occur when a driver heads the wrong direction on a roadway and into oncoming traffic. Every year since 2010, about 800 wrong-way crashes have occurred in Texas. That number spiked to 989 last year. So far in 2015, 621 wrong-way crashes have been reported across the state, resulting in 51 deaths. | Read More

Sign Up to Avoid Traffic Delays: Alternate Route Information Now Available for I-35 Motorists When Incidents Occur

In a significant improvement to traveler-information outreach in the Waco District, TxDOT will now be able to inform I-35 motorists if an alternate route is suggested or a detour (a required re-routing) has been set up, when incidents occur along the interstate. | Read More

Speed Limit Study Under Way Near Temple

Beginning this month, I-35 motorists traveling south near Loop 363 in Temple may notice speed limits posted directly onto the pavement, just as the work zone begins. This manner of displaying the 60 mph speed limit is part of a research project, but it could become routine for the TxDOT Waco District, if it is found to be effective. | Read More
